Safety and Compliance Officer

About the Role
The Safety and Compliance Officer will play a key role in ensuring a safe and compliant environment for students and staff at one of Queensland's most prestigious private schools. Reporting to the Director of Safety & Compliance, your contributions will help shape the school's safety strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with policy updates and maintain the school's hazard register.
- Maintain an existing hazard register, ensuring yearly review timeframes are met.
- Ensure staff compliance with mandatory training.
- Oversee employee inductions, manage training allocation, and track completion.
- Maintain an existing provider register, ensuring licences and certificates are up to date.
- Provide monthly reports and quarterly inspections of emergency evacuation vests and walkie talkies.
- Support key Risk and WHS committee meetings, including report preparation and minute-taking.
About You
You're a proactive, organised individual with a passion for administration and a desire to develop your skills in safety and compliance. While previous experience in compliance is a plus, we're looking for someone eager to learn and grow. You'll bring strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and most importantly, you hold (or are eligible to obtain) a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
