About the Role

This dynamic Contracts Specialist role demands exceptional skill in maximizing benefits while minimizing risks associated with client and supplier contracts. You'll be instrumental in preparing new contracts, advising on structuring to mitigate risks, and mobilizing agreements across internal stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Contract Development: Prepare comprehensive contracts, incorporating scope and schedules, to safeguard business interests.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Mobilize new contracts by engaging key stakeholders to ensure seamless contract lifecycle support.
  3. Contractual Guidance: Provide expert advice to Operational and Commercial leads on contractual matters, promoting harmony and avoiding disputes.
  4. Loss Claim Resolution: Assist Operational leads in achieving optimal outcomes for loss claims made or received.
  5. Tender Response: Support preparation of responses to invitations to tender, balancing legal, operational, and commercial requirements.
  6. Process Development: Develop and maintain systems, procedures, and precedents for contract management and related activities.
  7. Risk Management: Collaborate with Legal and Insurance functions to identify and effectively manage identified risks.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of contract law and risk management principles.
  • Logical, critical, and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to coach colleagues in commercial and contract management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and adapt to unstructured environments.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Engineering, or similar (desirable but not necessary).
  • Operational experience in commercial and/or contract management.
