Overview

Join to apply for the Contract Manager role at Western Power. We are seeking a Contract Manager in Western Power's Standalone Power Systems Area, as part of the Strategic Works Delivery Function at Perth Head Office on a 12‑month maximum term basis. The Standalone Power Systems (SPS) Area is responsible for the preparation and management of the SPS program development and deployment.

As a Contract Manager, you will oversee the performance of complex, high‑value contracts within Western Power. You will provide expert contract advice and guidance while ensuring adherence to Western Power's Contract Management Framework. Your focus will be on delivering contracts that meet safety and environmental standards, and achieving targets for cost, time, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Your Role in Action
  • Accountable for driving the overall performance of assigned complex/high‑value contracts and for providing subject matter expert contract advice and guidance.
  • Ensure all contracts are managed in line with Western Power's Contract Management Framework, including the Procurement Policy and the Contract Management Standard, undertaking key activities such as the development of the CMP.
  • Review the Contract Management engagement deliverables including the SHE risks register, scope of work, specifications, drawings, and pricing schedules.
  • Ensure receipt and approval of the Contractor's plans in line with the contract, and monitor and manage compliance to the Contractor plans including safety, environmental, quality, schedule, and pricing.
  • Verify and certify Contractors' claims, including progress, variations, and EOT.
  • Complete Contractor performance reporting requirements.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Degree or equivalent in Business, Law or Commerce.
  • Contract Management Qualification.
  • Broad and extensive knowledge and proven understanding of contract management.
  • At least 10+ years of significant contract management experience including high‑value/highly complex contracts.
  • Strong working knowledge of and ability to interpret legislation regarding contract law.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, complemented by influencing/negotiation skills.
  • Strong experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and managing public and stakeholder relations.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at all levels within a corporate environment.
