We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Nursing Assistant. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional service to donors and play a vital part in supporting their donation process.
As a Nursing Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to greet and interview potential donors, assess their eligibility and suitability to donate, and create a positive experience for them throughout the donation process. You will also be responsible for performing routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests, setting up machines and collections equipment, and inserting and removing needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will work collaboratively with your team to achieve collection targets and ensure that donors receive the highest level of care and support. No prior experience in blood collection is required, as we offer a paid and flexible self-paced training program that includes both on-the-job practice and online classes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- You should be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials.
- You should be able to occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs.
- You should be able to support and foster a fantastic team culture.
- You should be able to frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products.
