We are a community-controlled, not-for-profit organisation guided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experts and peak bodies. Our mission is to promote collective excellence in mental health care through system-wide change.
Job DescriptionThis Communications Specialist position plays a vital role in shaping and delivering impactful communications that support our organisational goals.
- Strategic Communications: Develop and implement strategic communication initiatives that foster system-wide change.
- Content Creation: Produce and manage digital and print content across multiple channels, ensuring messaging remains impactful, relevant, and aligned with organisational goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, to ensure communications are culturally responsive, accurate, and engaging.
- Media Management: Oversee media relations, respond to media inquiries, and manage press coverage to promote positive visibility for our initiatives.
- Internal Communications: Develop materials that keep staff informed and engaged, cultivating a supportive and culturally inclusive workplace environment.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all communications adhere to brand guidelines, aligning with our organisational mission and values.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A proven track record in a communications role, preferably within the not-for-profit or community sector.
- A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and a commitment to advancing their social and emotional wellbeing.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.
- Experience in managing social media platforms and creating digital content.
- A collaborative mindset, able to balance multiple priorities with attention to detail.
