Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective communication plans that align with the organisation's goals and mission.
  • Craft culturally sensitive and impactful content for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, press releases, and organisational reports.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, to ensure communications are relevant, accurate, and engaging.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns and provide insights for improvement.
  • Support the organisation in managing media relations, responding to media inquiries, and promoting positive media coverage.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of marketing materials, ensuring consistency in branding and messaging.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a communications role, ideally within the not-for-profit or community-focused sector.
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and a commitment to promoting their social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in managing social media platforms and developing digital content.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field are desirable.
