Accountant Job Description

Atlas Recruitment Experts is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team. As a key member of the financial team, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals and financial health.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, prepare tax returns, and manage tax reporting for the company.
  • Transaction Management: Manage day-to-day transactions, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Internal and External Audits: Coordinate internal and external audits, review financial records, and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance and provide insights for cost control, revenue generation, and profitability improvement.
  • Financial Governance: Ensure that the company adheres to financial laws and regulations, including Australian Accounting Standards (AAS).
  • Expense Management: Monitor expenses and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with management, auditors, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and ensure sound decision-making.
About You:
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Accountant.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, Australian Accounting Standards (AAS), and financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Expertise in Australian tax laws and regulations, including corporate tax, GST, and payroll tax, with the ability to prepare and file tax returns accurately.
  • Familiarity with accounting software for managing accounts, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in preparing for and conducting internal and external audits, as well as ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations.

Job Type: Permanent/full-time

Salary: $80,000-$90,000
