Job Opportunity: As an Environment Officer with Wollondilly Shire Council, you will be a key member of our Ranger Services team. We are looking for someone to enforce and undertake regulatory investigations and actions, participate in routine parking patrols, operate our animal shelter, and deliver public education programs and events to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce laws and regulations, undertaking regulatory investigations and actions as required
  • Participate in routine parking patrols, issuing penalties where necessary
  • Operate our animal shelter, ensuring the welfare of animals in our care
  • Develop and implement public education programs and events to promote environmental awareness and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve council goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence and a valid Working with Children Check
  • Minimum two years relevant work experience in a regulatory and enforcement role
  • Demonstrated experience in parking patrols, including school zones, and the issue of associated penalties
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation relevant to the position
  • Superior verbal communication, engagement, and conflict resolution skills
