Job Title: Compliance Officer

As a key member of our Compliance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that we meet regulatory obligations and protect the environment.

  • Investigate development and activity under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and other relevant legislation to protect the environment and public health.
  • Carry out site inspections and investigations in response to reports of unauthorized and non-compliant development.
  • Regulate and enforce legislative requirements in accordance with our Compliance Policy.
  • Provide advice on Compliance matters and prepare documentation such as Notices, Orders, and fines.
  • Conduct proactive site inspections to ensure compliance with site control requirements and Development Consent.
  • Inspect and assess swimming pool barriers under the Swimming Pools Act and our Swimming Pool Inspection Program.
Requirements:
  • Qualification in a related field or relevant experience in Compliance, Building Surveying, land use planning, or Local Government Investigations.
  • Broad understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, State Environmental Planning Policies, and other relevant legislation.
  • Previous experience and ability to assess, investigate, and take action regarding land use activities and unauthorized building works.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
