Claims Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced Claims Specialist to join our NSW Workers Compensation team.

This role involves facilitating the return to work and health of claimants, leveraging extensive knowledge in Workers Compensation, empathy, and a passion for helping others.

You will coach and support case managers, provide expert advice on claims strategies, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of complex claims for government agencies.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to meet service standards.
  • Determine complex liability decisions and provide timely assessments of treatment requests.
  • Document claims decisions thoroughly and accurately.
  • Utilise claims management systems effectively.
  • Develop and implement claims strategies that deliver positive and sustainable outcomes.
  • Meet key performance measures.
  • Coach and support newer team members and provide advice on complex claims.

Requirements:

  • A minimum 4 years' recent experience as a Workers Compensation Case Manager or in other personal injury roles (experience within the last 5 years).
  • A detailed understanding of workers compensation legislation, complex claims liability decisions, litigation, and work capacity processes.
  • The ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Strong time management skills and adaptability to change.
  • An interest in leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
