Electrical Technician Job Description

The role of an electrical technician is to ensure the smooth operation of mobile mining equipment. This involves performing regular maintenance, repairs, and servicing to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal performance.

  • Perform routine checks on equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to detect any signs of wear or damage that may affect the equipment's functionality.
  • Repair and replace faulty components as needed to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Hold a relevant trade certificate, such as a Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology.
  • Have post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earth moving industry, or hydraulic excavator industry.
  • Be proficient in general service, maintenance, breakdowns, component change outs, and proper diagnostics.
