Neonatal Fellowship Program

This is a senior-level neonatal medicine position available for the current clinical year, offering advanced training in Neonatology.

The program aims to provide an environment that includes all facets of neonatal care with protected research time and close clinical and research supervision.

Suitable for Advanced Trainees wishing to pursue a career in Neonatology, this program provides exposure to cardiac, surgical and complex medical conditions essential for advanced training in Neonatology.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate category
  • Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as an Advanced Trainee or equivalent
  • At least 12 months experience in Level III newborn intensive care at advanced trainee/equivalent level or above
  • Proficiency in neonate resuscitation, advanced airway management including intubation & mechanical ventilation, insertion of peripheral & umbilical arterial & venous lines
  • Demonstrated commitment to further education, professional development and teaching
  • Experience in multidisciplinary management of surgical and cardiac conditions in the newborn
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Understanding of research methodology and research experience
