Job Overview

The Head of Business Controls plays a pivotal role within the Customer Solutions and Technology Division, driving business success by evaluating, directing, and monitoring risk activities.

This position requires an astute strategist with exceptional communication skills, experience in leading teams during organisational change, and proven expertise in risk management.

  • Lead Risk teams within the banking/financial services industry
  • Develop pragmatic solutions to risk and control problems
  • Partner with Senior Leaders and GM Level stakeholders on all matters risk and controls

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, direct, and monitor 1st line risk activities
  • Provide risk leadership to Westpac's Customer Solutions and Technology division
  • Develop pragmatic solutions to risk and control problems
  • Partner with Senior Leaders and GM Level stakeholders
  • Empower high-performing teams through change
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 15+ year's work experience as a risk management professional
  • Extensive banking/financial services/risk assessment experience
  • Solid understanding of 1st Line Risk and managing teams
  • Demonstrated experience with regulators and regulatory reviews
  • Excellent communication skills
