Mechanical Workshop Service Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Advisor to join our team at Charterhouse Recruitment (Australia). As a Service Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our workshop, serving internal clients predominantly from a Heavy Diesel or Automotive background.
Key Responsibilities- Customer and Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as the primary point of contact between internal clients, management, and workshop staff.
- Communicate all customer requirements and concerns accurately and promptly to the workshop team.
- Provide updates to clients on the progress of their repairs and maintenance.
- Manage the daily flow of repair orders from initiation to completion.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing for all services rendered.
- Maintain detailed records of all repair orders and customer interactions.
- Assess vehicle and equipment conditions and provide clients with professional advice on future maintenance requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
- Strive to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and efficient service delivery.
- Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
- Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor and technical staff to ensure smooth and efficient workshop operations.
- Assist in the planning and allocation of resources to meet service demands.
- Prepare and present regular reports on workshop activities, customer feedback, and operational performance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
- Experience
- Proven experience as a Service Advisor in the Automotive Industry, preferably within a Heavy Diesel or similar environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing high volume repair orders, invoicing, and customer interactions.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and background, with the ability to understand and communicate technical issues effectively.
- Familiarity with heavy diesel and automotive systems and components.
- Outstanding time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal clients and team members.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- A valid driver's licence, with a preference for a Heavy Vehicle licence.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software related to workshop management and invoicing.
