A Communication Specialist plays a vital role in helping children achieve their development milestones.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Helping children communicate effectively and participate in everyday activities.
- Educating and involving parents, carers and others around the child to support communication and language development.
- Supporting children with stuttering and articulation disorders to speak fluently and confidently.
- Addressing literacy, reading and writing difficulties in conjunction with teachers and schools.
- Teaching children safe food and drink management skills.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A degree in Speech Pathology or currently completing.
- Eligibility for SPA registration upon graduating.
- Graduated in the last 12 months or graduating by early 2025.
- A full valid driver's license with access to your own vehicle and third party insurance.
- A valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
- A current Police Check or willingness to obtain.
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain.
- First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
