Lead Educator in Community Services

About the Role
The Senior Educator plays a crucial role in managing the daily functions of the Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service. This position is essential for ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations, supporting team members, and upholding exemplary standards of health, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the service's compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework (NQF), and National Quality Standard (NQS).
- Guide the team in reflective practices and self-assessment to enhance service quality, ensuring that we exceed regulatory expectations.
- Implement and sustain daily quality assurance and risk management protocols to maintain high safety and hygiene standards.
- Conduct regular risk evaluations and daily inspections, addressing any hazards promptly while fostering a culture of safety among staff.
- Serve as a primary contact for families, addressing inquiries and providing information about the service.
- Build and nurture positive relationships with children, families, and the broader community, facilitating open communication.
- Encourage professional development by promoting ongoing training and mentorship opportunities for all staff, and fostering reflective practices through regular training sessions.
- Support the integration of well-being initiatives developed by the Educational Leader or management into daily operations.
- Promote and enforce safety practices among staff and children through routine checks and training, ensuring a safe environment at all times.
- Assist in the delivery of high-quality educational programs aligned with approved learning frameworks and the service philosophy.
About You
- Proven experience in a school, OSHC, or early education setting is highly desirable.
- Background in program planning, execution, facilitation, and assessment.
- Prior experience as an educator or program facilitator in an OSHC, school, or youth environment.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma or Certificate IV in Children's Services, OSHC, or Recreation; a Degree or Diploma in Primary Teaching is preferred.
- Child Protection qualifications, along with First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis management certifications.
- Familiarity with the National Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards, and 'My Time Our Place' framework.
- Ability to design, implement, and assess activities that cater to the needs and interests of children in an OSHC context.
- Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to equity, access, and inclusive practices, supporting children with diverse needs, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, multicultural backgrounds, and LGBTQIA+ families.
