Role Summary
The Educational Programs Lead serves as the primary Educational Leader, responsible for designing and implementing high-quality educational initiatives for Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) sites, including term and vacation programs. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place, and the NSW Department of Education Curriculum. Utilizing a strengths-based and play-based learning approach, the Lead ensures that programs are engaging and appropriate for children across all developmental stages and abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and deliver innovative educational programs tailored to the needs of OSHC sites.
- Ensure that children's learning and development align with the outcomes of approved learning frameworks.
- Create term-based and vacation care programs to enhance attendance and service quality.
- Foster an inclusive environment that welcomes children and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Design new formats, ideas, templates, or resources as needed.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and engagement through continuous improvement practices, incorporating feedback from children and families.
Engagement and Mentorship
- Actively engage with children while maintaining appropriate supervision ratios to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
- Support and mentor emerging program facilitators, educators, and co-facilitators.
- Involve children and families in the co-creation of programs, promoting a collaborative learning environment.
Compliance and Management
- Ensure adherence to service policies and relevant legislation, guiding other educators in compliance.
- Manage programming budgets, resources, and stakeholder relationships in consultation with the Nominated Supervisor.
- Model positive behavior guidance policies and assist children in developing essential skills.
- Act as a Responsible Person in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor and at other OSHC services as delegated.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in a leadership role within a school, aged care, or educational setting is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in program planning, delivery, facilitation, and evaluation.
- Possession of a Diploma or Certificate IV in Children's Services, OSHC, Recreation, or a Degree/Diploma in Primary Teaching.
- Certification in First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis management.
- Background as an educator or program facilitator in an educational context.
- Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards, and My Time Our Place.
