About the Role
The Senior Educator plays a pivotal role in managing the daily functions of the Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service. This position ensures adherence to all relevant regulations while supporting staff and upholding exceptional standards of health, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the service's compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, NQF, and NQS.
- Guide the team in reflective practices and self-assessment to enhance service quality, aiming to exceed regulatory standards.
- Implement daily quality assurance and risk management protocols to maintain high safety and hygiene standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and address potential hazards promptly, fostering a culture of safety among staff.
- Serve as a primary contact for families, addressing inquiries and providing service information.
- Build and nurture positive relationships with children, families, and the community, ensuring transparent communication.
- Encourage professional development through ongoing training and mentorship for all staff, promoting reflective practices.
- Support the integration of well-being initiatives into daily routines, assisting children and staff as needed.
- Enforce daily safety practices through routine checks and training, ensuring a secure environment.
- Assist in delivering high-quality educational programs aligned with approved learning frameworks and the service philosophy.
About You
- Proven experience in a school, OSHC, or early education setting is highly desirable.
- Expertise in program planning, delivery, facilitation, and evaluation.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma or Certificate IV in Children's Services, OSHC, or Recreation; a Degree or Diploma in Primary Teaching is preferred.
- Certification in Child Protection, First Aid, and management of Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
- Knowledge of the NQF, Child Safe Standards, and My Time Our Place frameworks.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Commitment to inclusive practices, supporting children from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
