About the Role

Cranbrook Care is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Leisure and Lifestyle Officer to join our team at our premier aged care residence, William Cape Gardens. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for organizing and implementing leisure and lifestyle activities for our residents, with the goal of improving their quality of life and promoting social interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement leisure and lifestyle programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents
  • Collaborate with the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator to ensure seamless delivery of programs and services
  • Work closely with residents, families, and caregivers to understand their needs and preferences
  • Contribute to the development of a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction and community engagement
  • Assist with the coordination of events and activities that promote resident engagement and participation

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Leisure and Lifestyle or a related field (Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or Cert III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care))
  • Experience working in aged care, preferably in a Leisure and Lifestyle role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service
  • Knowledge of contemporary diversionary therapy services and experience working with people who have dementia
