Clinical Midwife Educator Role

As a clinical midwife educator, you will play a vital role in shaping the capabilities and confidence of midwifery workforce through education, training, and support.

This purposeful leadership position nurtures future generations of midwives and supports excellence in maternity care. You will be responsible for identifying learning needs, developing targeted programs, and delivering meaningful clinical education at the ward level.

While your primary focus will be mentoring and training, direct clinical care is reserved for emergency circumstances only serving as a model for best-practice care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify learning needs and develop targeted programs
  • Deliver meaningful clinical education at the ward level
  • Mentor and train midwives to achieve best-practice care
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant clinical/education post-registration qualification/s
  • Recent extensive clinical experience in a healthcare setting

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
