Clinical Midwifery Educator Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our maternity team at Lithgow Hospital in a clinical midwifery educator capacity.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of midwifery in a community-centered setting, where you will have the chance to mentor and train future generations of midwives and support excellence in maternity care.

As a Clinical Midwifery Educator, your primary responsibilities will include identifying learning needs, developing targeted programs, and delivering meaningful clinical education at the ward level.

You will work closely with the NUM/MUM to establish and maintain a learning environment that values and encourages reflective practice.

  • Current registration to practice as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is essential
  • A relevant clinical/education post-registration qualification/s and recent extensive clinical experience in healthcare settings are highly desirable
  • The ability to identify learning needs and plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate education is critical
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work in a consultative manner, are required
