Medibank seeks a skilled professional to fill the role of Treasury Dealer within their Finance & Strategy Division. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in Investments or Treasury functions to contribute to the organization's performance.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Treasury and Investments and Portfolio Manager to support the delivery of the organisation's treasury and investment functions. They will assist with daily liquidity management, including making trade recommendations, executing trades, and engaging with external brokers and counterparties.

  • Ensure Medibank's daily cash position is accurately captured, monitored, and reported, with material variability explained
  • Develop and enhance cash flow forecasting models to support investment decision-making
  • Oversee portfolio administration, including trade capture, security set-up, settlement oversight, and counterparty monitoring
  • Support the Portfolio Manager in the investment of surplus funds, making trade recommendations, executing trades, and maintaining market relationships with external counterparties and brokers
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Manager to align liquidity management with investment strategies
  • Conduct general and ad hoc market research and analysis to inform investment decisions
  • Identify opportunities to improve the cash flow forecasting processes by enhancing efficiencies, systems utilisation, data accuracy, and delivery of business insights
  • Take ownership of investment reporting, ensuring accuracy and leveraging third-party service providers, including Treasury Management System
  • Analyse portfolio performance and provide insights and recommendations for strategic adjustments
  • Comply with Medibank's Risk & Governance culture by ensuring all trade activity is in accordance with policy and regulatory limits

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as attention to detail and understanding of investment concepts and relationships. A CFA qualification (completed or partial completion) is highly regarded but not necessary. Additionally, experience in an Investment or Treasury function within a regulated environment, ideally APRA-regulated, would be beneficial.
