About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Pricing Strategist to join our Pricing & Practice Economics Team (PPE) at Allens Operations Pty Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the firm's commercial and strategic objectives by developing and delivering pricing infrastructure, bid teams, and commercial agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of pricing infrastructure for the firm.
  • Support bid teams with pricing and negotiation strategy for panels and tenders.
  • Review commercial terms and manage client pricing arrangements, liaising with clients' procurement and legal operations teams where required.
  • Assist partners and lawyers to respond to requests for estimates or proposals, including designing and implementing alternative fee arrangements.
  • Use pricing tools and financial models to assess profitability and support and influence partners with pricing decisions.
  • Support the Innovation & Digital Solutions team in pricing of legal technology services and products, implementing strategic initiatives that drive improvements in efficiency, creating positive outcomes for clients and the firm.
  • Assist with the management, training, and development of Pricing Managers and Pricing Analysts.

About You

You will have a background in law firm pricing or pricing in another professional services environment, with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships with people at all levels of an organisation. You will also have experience in bid and tender processes, dealing with procurement and/or legal operations, and managing others or a team. Proficient Excel skills and the ability to think critically, solve problems, and be comfortable with complexity, ambiguity, or uncertainty are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate, are also required.
