About the Role

Our studio is seeking an experienced Senior Animator to join our team in Melbourne, Australia.

This role involves working closely with our global teams across the US, Canada, and the UK to create engaging animations for our games. You will be responsible for crafting game motions, cinematic sequences, and other visual elements that enhance the overall gaming experience.

To achieve this, you will work collaboratively with Design, Engineering, and Environment teams to ensure seamless integration and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crafting motion capture editing and key framing to bring game mechanics, cinematics, and character animations to life.
  • Demonstrating expertise in camera animation, cinematic framing, shot continuity, and facial animation.
  • Responding to feedback and iterating to meet the highest standards of AAA titles.
  • Troubleshooting tool implementations and optimizing workflows for efficiency and creativity.
  • Providing input on performance concerns, scope assessment, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
  • Strong professional animation experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of game animation principles and techniques.
  • Experience with Motion Capture editing and cleanup.
  • Understanding of human movement fundamentals.
  • Able to adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Expertise in Maya.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills across departments.
  • Mentoring abilities for Junior Animators.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Using Motion Capture editing and Key Framing to craft game motions for gameplay mechanics, cinematics, viewmodel/weapon animations or third-person vignettes.
  • Demonstrating understanding of camera animation, cinematic framing, shot continuity, and facial animation.
  • Responding to feedback and iterating to achieve high-quality AAA titles.
  • Troubleshooting tool implementations and improving workflows for efficiency and creativity.
  • Advising on performance concerns, scope assessment, and risk mitigation.
  • Applying experience creatively and independently with minimal instruction.
