Job Title: Animal Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team. As an Animal Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care for the animals in our shelter.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide day-to-day care for the animals, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. This includes feeding, cleaning, and exercising the animals, as well as observing and reporting any health or behavioral concerns.

You will also be responsible for contributing to the daily management of the shelter, including transporting animals as required, and supporting Veterinarians when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality animal care, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising animals
  • Observe, document, and report any health or behavioral concerns
  • Support Veterinarians with animal care and medical procedures
  • Contribute to the daily management of the shelter, including transportation of animals
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors and clients
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate II in Animal Studies (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in animal care or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work rotating rosters, including weekends and public holidays
