Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the Director - Equipment Management position.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality asset papers and valuations, ensuring consistency and accuracy in transactions.
  • Implement proactive risk management strategies, meeting regulatory and internal policy requirements.
  • Conduct market valuations for various asset classes, considering factors such as market downturn, remarketing, and holding costs.
  • Validate external appraiser assumptions and provide technical and commercial advice on new asset classes.
  • Manage residual value portfolios, setting positions for new transactions, return conditions, and assessing asset coverage of existing transactions.
  • Prepare annual Residual Value Committee papers and provide sector knowledge through market data analysis and insights papers.
  • Engage and instruct external appraisers, conduct inspections/site visits, and advise on end-of-lease asset sales processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Valuation accreditation (American Society of Appraisers or equivalent)
  • Technical knowledge of large ticket asset classes and industries, including mining equipment, rail rolling stock, transport assets, and industrial plant.
  • Strong customer and compliance focus, with understanding of financing structures and risk management.
  • Solid numerical skills and proficiency in modeling current and future values.
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills, with ability to provide a reliable and credible opinion of value.
  • Physical inspection of assets and valuation experience (minimum 8-10 years) preferably at a financial institution or professional services firm.
  • Multi-asset class experience and broad industry network.
