About the Opportunity

Australian Barnardos Recruitment Services seeks a highly experienced Therapeutic Lead to guide our team in providing holistic care and support to women recovering from domestic, family, and sexual violence.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team, delivering specialized therapeutic support, and overseeing client intake and case management. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential in this role, as you will work closely with senior management to shape and implement clinical services that address the unique needs of survivors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Manage the Therapeutic Team: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the therapeutic team, ensuring alignment with our organisation's feminist philosophy and values.
  • Deliver Specialised Therapeutic Support: Provide individual and group counselling, conduct psychosocial and risk assessments, safety planning, and advocacy for clients affected by domestic and family violence.
  • Oversee Client Intake and Case Management: Manage the intake process, maintain the client caseload, and ensure all case management practices are thorough and responsive to client needs.
  • Collaborate with External Partners: Build and maintain partnerships with other organisations to create holistic, wraparound services for clients.
  • Monitor Quality and Compliance: Ensure that all client records are accurately maintained according to organisational and legislative requirements.
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced therapeutic leader who possesses a strong understanding of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Professional Qualifications: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field, with registration or eligibility for membership with relevant professional bodies.
  • Extensive Clinical Experience: Demonstrated experience providing therapeutic counseling, psychosocial assessments, risk and safety planning, and advocacy for individuals affected by domestic, family, and sexual violence.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead, support, and develop a multidisciplinary team, including experience in workload management, training, and performance reviews.
What We Offer

A competitive salary package is on offer for this rewarding role, commensurate with industry standards and reflecting the high level of expertise required.

$93,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on experience.
