Nurse Practitioner

The NSW Government is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the acute adult inpatient units within the Eloura units and Wollongong Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred, evidence-based nursing care that promotes positive health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with consumers and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Work in therapeutic and professional relationships with consumers, as well as families, groups, and communities.
- Provide supervision and support for less experienced clinicians and maintain professional accountability and development in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia's Standards of Practice.
- Act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment.
Requirements
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and current NSW Driver's License (if required by service).
- Recent clinical experience in a mental health care setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
- Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Computer literacy and understanding of relevant health-related information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to apply the principles of recovery-oriented practice and trauma-informed care to practice.
What You'll Need to Do
- Provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of your recruitment documentation.
- Be certified as compliant with Occupational Assessment, Screening, and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases before employment can commence.
- Undergo a criminal record check.
- Obtain a Working With Children clearance from the Office of the Children's Guardian.
