Family Violence Support Specialist

As a Family Violence Support Specialist, you will provide critical assistance to Affected Family Members during their court process.
You will assess applicants' immediate needs, conduct risk assessments and safety planning, and offer valuable referrals to external service providers as needed.
Your role will involve establishing and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders, including Judiciary, Court Registrars, and community-based organizations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing applicants' immediate non-legal needs
- Conducting thorough risk assessments and creating effective safety plans
- Providing essential information and connecting applicants with relevant external resources
- Maintaining productive relationships with internal and external partners
To be successful in this position, you will need to hold a relevant tertiary qualification in a related therapeutic field such as social work, psychology, or social sciences.
You should also have demonstrated experience and knowledge of Family Violence, including its drivers, risks, and factors that may exacerbate family violence risk.
In addition, you will bring expertise in providing support, crisis management, and risk assessment, as well as exceptional stakeholder engagement skills.
