Our Boarding Community

We have been a Boarding School since our inception in 1881. Today, we have around 90 Boarders from all over Australia and overseas. We are offering three unique opportunities for multiple candidates within our Boarding House community and seeking flexible and caring candidates to contribute in a unique way to this community.

The Roles

We are seeking candidates to work under the direction of the Head of Boarding, ensuring the safe welfare, pastoral care, and academic progress of all Boarders in the Morcom Boarding House. You will be responsible for the preservation of routine within a facility that houses approx. 45 secondary male and female students (aged 14-18 years) at our Caulfield Campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop knowledge of each individual and family/education circumstance within the House and monitor, plan, and action steps to maintain the physical and emotional wellbeing of boarding students and staff.
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
  • Assist with administration of supervision rosters, personnel management, and providing guidance and security to other boarding house supervisors.
  • Ensure the welfare and happiness of students and peers within the boarding community.
Requirements
  • Experience working with teenagers.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with others (boarders, parents, and staff).
  • A strong work ethic to commit to a range of shifts across 7 days per week during school term time.
  • Experience in social work/pastoral care role/residential environment (desired, but not essential).
  • Post-Secondary Education Qualification (desired).
  • Ability to ensure rules and procedures are consistently maintained.
  • Level 2 First Aid Certification, Anaphylaxis Certification, and CPR.
  • Current Employment Working with Children Check or VIT Registration.
