Job Title: National Account Manager - Independent Grocery

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven National Account Manager to lead our growth in the Independent Grocery channel. In this role, you will drive sales revenue, manage key national accounts, and expand our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quarterly business reviews, category reviews, and joint customer plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal departments, including logistics, distribution, accounts, marketing, and operations.
  • Achieve revenue, margin, and contribution targets for designated customer groups.
  • Utilize consumer insights and data analysis to identify and maximize existing business opportunities and drive new growth.
  • Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue and volume, and coordinate campaigns and promotions with key customers.
  • Conduct competitor analysis, understand market trends, and make strategic recommendations for future planning.
  • Collaborate with Merchandise and Category Managers, franchises, and Group Marketing Managers to plan, monitor, and review activities.
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years' experience in FMCG sales leadership, account management, or business development.
  • Experience within Independent Grocery account management, including Metcash Head Office, state DCs, and key MSO retailers.
  • Strong relationship building and high levels of tenacity and resilience, with a results-oriented mentality.
  • Experience with FMCG databases such as Quantium, Nielsen, and IRI/Aztec.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, or a related field are desirable.
  • Current Australian driver's license is required.
  • Proven track record in managing and negotiating trading terms and range reviews with major customers.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, demonstrating strong commercial acumen, resilience, professionalism, and work ethic.
