Research Assistant

The University of South Australia is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to contribute to grant-funded research in the Centre for Cancer Biology. The successful candidate will work under the broad direction of the Head: Cytokine Receptor Laboratory to achieve defined objectives and test stated hypotheses.
The project involves cellular and molecular investigations into how cytokines drive cell fate in blood cancers. The Research Assistant will contribute to the planning, execution, and dissemination of research, including drafting reports, abstracts, and scientific papers.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the planning of research by participating in planning sessions, offering new ideas, and reviewing relevant literature.
- Contribute to the execution of research by designing experiments, maintaining records, and producing data.
- Contribute to the dissemination of new knowledge by drafting reports, abstracts, and scientific papers.
- Ensure a safe and ethical working environment by complying with guidelines.
- An Honours degree in biology, cell and/or molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Experience in cell culture, gene and protein expression techniques, and generation of engineered cell lines.
- Demonstrated participation in relevant research areas and knowledge of literature involved in cytokine and growth factor biology in blood cancers.
- High-level oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
