Research Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Assistant to join our team at the University of New South Wales. The successful candidate will provide research and administrative support for various projects within the UNSW Microbiome Research Centre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform data entry and collection tasks with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Attend research meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with the latest methodologies and best practices.
  • Respond to routine enquiries related to research projects and provide excellent customer service.
  • Liaise with study participants and follow-up by telephone/email/survey to ensure timely and effective communication.
  • Undertake routine research support tasks consistent with established methodologies, including handling of biological samples and working in PC2 laboratories.
  • Ensure compliance with International Conference on Harmonisation - Good Practice (ICH-GCP) Australian regulation and privacy laws.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a relevant qualification and previous experience supporting a research project.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient level of computer literacy with well-developed skills in Microsoft Office 365, REDCap and equivalent applications.
