Program Coordinator Role

The Program Coordinator is a key role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our service. This position ensures compliance with all regulations, supports staff, and maintains high standards of health, safety, and well-being.

  • Ensure the service operates in full compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead the team in reflection and self-assessment to identify areas for improvement, ensuring compliance and exceeding regulatory standards.
  • Implement and maintain daily quality assurance and risk management practices to uphold safety, hygiene, and wellbeing standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and daily checks, addressing hazards immediately. Foster a safety-conscious culture among staff.
  • Serve as a point of contact for families, addressing concerns and providing information about the service.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and the community. Promote open communication among staff, children, families, and the community.
  • Encourage professional growth through ongoing training, mentorship, and development opportunities. Promote reflective practice and critical thinking via professional development sessions.
  • Support wellbeing initiatives developed by the Educational Leader or management, integrating them into daily routines. Provide support for children and staff experiencing difficulties.
  • Promote and enforce daily safety practices through routine checks and training. Respond promptly to safety concerns or incidents, maintaining a safe environment.
  • Support the implementation of high-quality, responsive educational programs aligned with approved frameworks and service philosophy.

Requirements

  • Experience working within a school, OSHC, or early education centre is highly desirable.
  • Experience in program planning, delivery, facilitation, and evaluation.
  • Experience as an educator, program facilitator, or similar role in OSHC, school, or youth settings.
  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Children's Services, OSHC, Recreation is highly desired; Degree or Diploma in Primary Teaching preferred.
  • Child Protection qualifications, First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis management certifications.
  • Knowledge of the NQF, Child Safe Standards, and My Time Our Place.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate activities that meet children's needs and interests within an OSHC setting.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to upholding EEO, Access and Equity, and inclusive practices supporting children with additional needs or from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from multicultural backgrounds, and LGBTQIA+ children and families.

The successful candidate will require a National Police clearance prior to appointment (to be completed by us), a valid NSW Working With Children Check clearance, and a current NSW driver's license.
