About the Opportunity

As an experienced After-Hours General Practitioner, you will conduct after-hours telehealth consultations for residential aged care facilities.

  • Provide acute medical support and clinical oversight for residents, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Update medication records, issue prescriptions, and order investigations as needed to provide high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Manage and follow up on acute issues raised by facility staff, facilitating effective communication and care coordination.
  • Communicate with family members and provide referrals to specialists where required, prioritizing resident needs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within 30 minutes of completing rounds, maintaining a comprehensive record of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct telehealth consultations with residents in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Collaborate with facility staff to deliver comprehensive care, leveraging your expertise and experience.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident.
Requirements:
  • Current AHPRA General Registration or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in residential aged care or primary care settings highly regarded, demonstrating your ability to adapt to diverse environments.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Confidence using telehealth platforms and electronic medical records, staying up-to-date with the latest technology and innovations.
