About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior SMSF Accountant to join our boutique accounting firm in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to take on a key role within the firm, delivering technical compliance and enjoying business advisory engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end SMSF compliance, including financials, tax returns, and audit preparation
  • Work directly with high-net-worth individuals and their advisors to deliver tailored solutions
  • Contribute to the firm's business advisory projects, which are a core part of the role
  • Review work completed by junior and offshore team members, providing feedback and support
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, ensuring best practice standards are upheld
  • Assist in managing workflows and supporting the broader SMSF team's operational needs

About You

  • A minimum of 4-5 years' experience in SMSF accounting within a public practice setting
  • CA/CPA qualified or close to completion
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of SMSFs
  • A strong interest in business advisory work
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable dealing with high-calibre clients
  • Eager to step into a leadership role and help mentor junior team members
