Job Title: SMSF Accountant

Overview:

As a proactive and experienced SMSF accountant, you will manage a portfolio of SMSF clients, ensuring compliance across all aspects of SMSF administration. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with partners, directors, and managers, sharpening your leadership skills and technical expertise while being supported in your professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer a portfolio of SMSF clients, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely reporting.
  • Apply your strong knowledge of SMSF regulations and compliance requirements to deliver accurate outcomes and ensure clients remain aligned with legislative obligations.
  • Build on your client-facing experience, liaising confidently with clients, auditors, and stakeholders, taking the lead in key interactions and providing a consistent, professional client experience.
  • Work closely with partners, directors, and managers in a supportive team environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven practical experience as an SMSF accountant with 4+ years of hands-on experience in accounting and tax compliance for SMSF clients.
  • Client engagement and communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Technical proficiency in SMSF legislation and compliance, with experience in preparing SMSF accounts and tax returns.
  • Team collaboration and leadership skills, a team player who contributes to a positive culture and experience in mentoring junior staff.
  • Professional integrity and accountability, a reliable and ethical approach to work.
  • Organisation and problem-solving skills, strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Energy and enthusiasm, a positive attitude and genuine passion for delivering high-quality work.
