About This Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join our team in providing culturally appropriate care and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families during the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work closely with midwives, obstetricians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic, family-centred care. Your unique cultural insights and understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities will be invaluable in addressing health disparities and achieving better maternal and infant outcomes.
We are seeking an individual who is passionate about promoting healthy pregnancies, supporting breastfeeding, and empowering families through education and advocacy. If you have expertise in this area and a commitment to delivering high-quality care, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide culturally appropriate care and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families during the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
- To work closely with midwives, obstetricians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic, family-centred care.
- To promote healthy pregnancies, support breastfeeding, and empower families through education and advocacy.
Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice Maternal and Infant Care.
- Registration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia.
