Culturally Sensitive Mental Health Liaison Specialist

This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring safe access and culturally appropriate care for Aboriginal people accessing mental health services. The role works directly with Aboriginal adult patients to facilitate access to these services, linking with mental health clinicians in the interest of patient care.
The officer is based within the Aboriginal Health Unit at GV Health, fostering connections with mental health services and other relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster extensive understanding of Aboriginal culture, society, and kinship networks
- Demonstrate an in-depth comprehension of mental health treatment issues
- Develop and maintain communication networks with the Aboriginal community and mainstream services
- Possess a current drivers license

- Hold a relevant qualification or equivalent training in mental health or health
