Key Responsibilities

This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team to enhance outcomes for individuals with offending risks and mental illness, as well as their families and carers.

  • Provide high-level management, clinical, and forensic expertise to the regional team.
  • Develop and implement the service model for regional forensic mental health services.
  • Coordinate interventions and reports.
  • Lead multidisciplinary team clinical reviews.
  • Oversee consumer risk management plans.
  • Coordinate team implementation and operation in conjunction with the Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Offer high-level advice on emerging issues impacting the team.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and service development activities.
  • Lead organizational change and service improvement within the team.
About You

We seek an individual with a demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery and incorporating consumer perspectives into service delivery.

  • Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate Board or Association.
  • Minimum 10 years post-registration mental health experience.
  • Able to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team and lead complex programs effectively.
  • Extensive experience in undertaking comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments, and in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical mental health interventions.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including consultation, liaison, facilitation, and negotiation with stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, mental health, and criminal justice systems.
