Business Development Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team and drive strategic growth within the Australian renewable energy market.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong network of contacts within the industry, excellent commercial awareness, and a results-driven mindset.
  • The role requires effective communication, a pragmatic approach, and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
About the Role

This exciting opportunity focuses on expanding sales and the sales pipeline by unlocking the full potential of Key Accounts through effective cross-business unit coordination, strategic relationship management, and market insight.

The Australian renewable energy market is poised for significant growth over the coming decade, driven by the ongoing retirement of coal-fired power, supportive government policies, and an uptick in investor confidence.

This position entails:

  • Growing both sales and the sales pipeline, particularly with Key Accounts
  • Positioning DNV as a leading provider in the minds of customers
  • Contributing to the development and execution of our Australian market sales strategy
  • Developing and executing strategies for managing the sales pipeline, lead generation, contract negotiations, and order intake across the APAC region
  • Identifying new business opportunities, establishing partnerships
  • Fostering long-term relationships with customers through trust-building initiatives
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and successful delivery of commitments
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent
  • Proven experience in dealing with customers, business development, and sales
  • Strong network of contacts within the Australian renewable energy industry
  • Experience with CRM systems, such as Salesforce
  • Background in developing, constructing, or financing renewables or power grids projects

  • Effective communication, pragmatic approach, and ability to build strong relationships
  • Ability to create trust through robust delivery and relationship building
  • Capacity to demonstrate foresight, staying up-to-date with market trends and adapting accordingly
  • Self-motivation, resilience, and ability to handle work pressure
  • 15+ years of experience in renewables and/or grid in Australia, with at least 5 years in a commercial/sales-oriented role
  • Track record of driving full sales lifecycle with a focus on business development and lead-generation strategies
  • Ability to build and maintain a strong professional network
  • Excellent pitching and planning skills, with a customer-centric approach
Work Environment
  • Normal office environment with regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and reaching
  • Domestic and occasional international travel to company offices, site locations, client offices, and conferences
  • Occasional outdoor work, including site visits, car travel, and walking on uneven terrain
