**Lead Coffee Specialist Role**

About the Position

We're seeking an experienced and skilled coffee professional to join our team as a Lead Coffee Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day coffee operations in our Melbourne café, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency across every shift.

You will foster a positive team culture, drive excellence in all aspects of coffee preparation and presentation, and provide expert guidance and training to junior team members. As a key leader on the floor, you will step into a supervisory capacity when needed, ensuring seamless service delivery.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage coffee preparation, presentation, and quality control
  • Develop and maintain high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
  • Drive consistency and efficiency in coffee production, maintaining high standards throughout every shift
  • Support the development of junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill-building
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a senior or lead barista in a fast-paced café environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Strong understanding of coffee calibration, recipe consistency, and workflow management
  • A calm and supportive leadership style, with the ability to handle pressure and multitasking
  • A genuine passion for coffee, people, and delivering exceptional customer experiences
