About the Role

We are seeking a Superannuation and Financial Services Regulatory Specialist to join our Funds Super & Financial Services (FSF) team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Partners and the wider team, gaining exposure to the most complex and interesting superannuation and broader financial services regulatory work in the market.

The ideal candidate will have experience advising superannuation and/or other financial services clients on a range of regulatory matters, including experience advising on the SIS Act, APRA Prudential Standards, Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act and the ASIC Act. You will also have a desire to specialise in superannuation and financial services regulatory work and excellent academics and legal analysis, writing and communication skills.

Your Responsibilities

As a Superannuation and Financial Services Regulatory Specialist, you will be involved in a wide range of work including:

  • helping clients with their most important regulatory and transformation projects;
  • assisting clients to respond to regulatory investigations and prosecutions, including APRA and ASIC proceedings;
  • advising on superannuation fund mergers;
  • working with our M&A team on transactions in the financial services area;
  • advising clients on their financial services regulatory obligations, including licensing, disclosure and conduct obligations; and
  • preparing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including outsourcing and distribution arrangements.
