Technical Services Specialist

This is a professional position that involves overseeing and maintaining the ICT infrastructure of a school. The successful applicant will be appointed to a lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next once specific criteria have been met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and maintain the school's ICT infrastructure, including acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of systems
  • Provide technical advice and hands-on support for staff and students using ICT equipment, aligned with departmental and manufacturer standards
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly, maintaining a customer-focused approach
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, as well as routine and emergency repairs to ICT facilities
  • Keep accurate records of technical services, inventory, and maintenance activities
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in supporting and maintaining ICT systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service for both students and staff
  • Ability to deliver training or coaching to staff in the use of ICT tools
