Job Overview

To excel in project management, it's essential to understand the intricacies of creating and maintaining schedules. As a skilled project scheduler, you will be responsible for developing and implementing project timelines using tools such as Primavera and Microsoft Project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate project schedules by leveraging your knowledge of scheduling methodologies like PERT and Critical Path Method (CPM).
  • Collaborate with team members to create a Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) that aligns with organizational goals.
  • Conduct variance analysis and report on schedule progress against the PMB, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Support Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and deliverables, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to project schedules through regular schedule risk assessments.
  • Facilitate Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) and other project review processes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of growth and development.
  • Ensure adherence to project management processes and provide support in finance-related analysis when required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a project scheduling or EVM environment, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Proficient in Primavera, Microsoft Project, or equivalent scheduling tools, with a strong understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling methodologies, including PERT and CPM, with the ability to apply them in complex project environments.
  • Experience with financial and budgetary controls for projects, ensuring timely completion and optimal resource allocation.
