The SHEQ Business Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing and operationalising the Infrastructure Services SHEQ strategy, championing a culture of care for people and the environment, and delivering quality outcomes.

Reporting to the GM SHEQ, key accountabilities include:

  • Aligning Infrastructure Services SHEQ strategy with business goals and objectives.
  • Defining safety leadership practices using best practice benchmarks.
  • Collaborating across Ventia and leading the safety agenda with competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Training and coaching the Business leadership team and project staff in key SHEQ tools and processes.
  • Providing capacity building opportunities in environment and quality streams to drive compliance and meet client expectations.
  • Supporting Business teams to manage critical risk controls and providing oversight on risk mitigation implementation.
  • Monitoring and driving workers compensation / injury management / early intervention performance.
  • Overseeing assurance and audit planning and execution, reviewing and monitoring the sector's performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement across projects.
  • Leading incident reviews, internal auditing and field inspection activities to ensure compliance.
  • Managing compliance to Sector third-party certifications, accreditations and pre-qualifications and keeping abreast of legislative changes.

About You:

  • Previous significant experience in SHEQ management roles, in High Hazard environments.
  • In-depth understanding of, and experience adhering to relevant laws/standards.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering Environmental and Sustainability objectives, including culture change.
  • Lead Auditor: Environment / Quality Management System.
  • TAE Cert IV (highly desired).
  • Practical client and people management skills.
  • Ability to develop and translate SHEQ strategy into implementable actions for the Business.
  • Ability to analyse data, benchmarks and implement strategic objectives.
