Senior Cyber Security Specialist

Australia's energy market operator is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to join its Energy Markets team.

The successful candidate will support the development and execution of a program of work to enhance cyber security maturity across grids and markets, coordinate research activities on emerging issues affecting energy systems, and promote a shared understanding of the cyber threat environment.

This role requires a deep understanding of the energy sector and experience in supporting critical infrastructure resilience and cyber security initiatives. The ideal candidate will have effective analysis and communication skills, knowledge of security control and maturity frameworks relevant to the energy sector, and contemporary knowledge of cyber adversary techniques.

  • Delivery and ownership of complex outcomes in support of the Energy Markets team's responsibilities relating to cyber maturity uplift
  • Maintain contacts and engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and academia
  • Identify and review cyber security standards applying to market participants
  • Support review and refinement of sector-specific cyber maturity frameworks and reporting on security preparedness of the sector
  • Assisting in the development of supporting materials and presentations
  • Coordinate internal and contracted resources to deliver objectives

Position Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the energy sector supporting critical infrastructure, resilience and cyber security initiatives (preferred)
  • Effective analysis and communication skills
  • Knowledge of security control and maturity frameworks relevant to the energy sector
  • Contemporary knowledge of cyber adversary techniques
  • Procurement, program and project management skills
  • Financial management, scheduling and resource management skills
