Job Title: Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Family Support Specialist. This role is part of a project that focuses on nurturing the educational outcomes of Indigenous children aged birth to 12 years in local communities.

The successful candidate will provide family support and supported playgroups, parenting and early childhood education services, counselling and support to young people who are vulnerable and at risk of homelessness, and early childhood intervention to people with a disability.

About the Role:
  • This position requires a strong understanding of community services and the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver high-quality family support services that meet the needs of families and children.
  • To develop and implement programs that promote early childhood development and school readiness.
  • To work collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.

Selection Criteria:

  • Qualifications in Community Services or relevant discipline and/or relevant work or life experience.
  • A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
