The Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre is a place of hope grounded in the customs, values, spiritual connection to ancestral lands, seas, and waters, and cultural knowledge of the Indigenous Australian community.
This centre offers a culturally safe and welcoming environment where people can access support for their mental health and social and emotional wellbeing. The centre takes a holistic, whole person approach that respects and includes traditional healing methods. Staff are culturally aware, trauma-informed, recovery-focused, and provide warm, non-judgemental, and compassionate care.
**Centre Implementation**:
The centre will commence service delivery in October 2025, and we are recruiting passionate staff who are committed to delivering accessible and culturally safe care. **Role Overview**:
The Community Engagement Manager leads the design, delivery, and evaluation of culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community-led engagement strategies for the centre. This role ensures that the voices of Indigenous Australians are embedded in all aspects of service development, delivery, and evaluation. The Manager works in partnership with Elders, families, and community organisations to promote the centre, mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and strengthen cultural connection.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community-led engagement strategies
- Collaborate with Elders, families, and community organisations to promote the centre and its services
- Develop and implement culturally informed programs or events in health, mental health, or community services
- Facilitate co-design with Indigenous communities and represent the centre in forums, partnerships, or interagency collaborations
**Requirements**:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in community engagement or cultural development within Indigenous community settings
- Background in designing and delivering culturally informed programs or events in health, mental health, or community services
- Proven experience in facilitating co-design with Indigenous communities
- Experience working with Indigenous Australians from regional and remote communities is highly desirable
**Qualifications and Other Requirements**:
- Working With Children's Check
- National Police Check
- Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Immunisations in accordance with SA health Immunisation Policy
