Tauondi Aboriginal College is an Aboriginal Community Controlled registered training organisation governed by an elected Aboriginal Board. For over 50 years, we've delivered accredited and non-accredited training tailored for Aboriginal people in a culturally safe, strengths-based environment.

Position Overview

We're seeking a Cultural Service Coordinator to lead Tauondi's Cultural Service Team and drive culturally safe training and advisory services across sectors. This is a hands-on supervisory role balancing coordination, team guidance, and direct delivery. You will design, develop and deliver (accredited and non-accredited) cultural capability modules while providing practical consultancy that helps organisations embed culturally informed practices. You'll also cultivate strategic partnerships, manage resources, and embed continuous improvement through evaluation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead, coordinate and resource the Cultural Service Team to deliver high-quality training and advisory services.
  2. Design, tailor and deliver cultural capability programs (group and 1:1), including specialised topics through an Aboriginal cultural lens.
  3. Provide ongoing cultural advice/consultancy, develop practical tools, and support organisations to implement change.
  4. Build and maintain partnerships with government and non-government stakeholders; strengthen community connections and referral pathways.
  5. Evaluate impact, report outcomes, and drive continuous improvement in content and delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential: Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
  • 5+ years' recent experience developing and delivering cultural training to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal audiences.
  • 3+ years' experience providing mentoring/wrap-around support to Aboriginal people.
  • Demonstrated ability in program coordination, resource management, cultural training activities and tour delivery.
  • Excellent organisational ability, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Some work outside standard hours and the delivery of off-campus training will be required. Salary is negotiable according to qualifications and experiences. The position is for an initial contract for 12 months – demand driven extension will be available.
